COMMUNICATION

“There are not many who would think of sending confidential information on a postcard. Actually, a non-encoded email is just that – anybody who happens to get his hands on it can read it.”

Arne Schönbohm, President of the German Federal Office for Information Security [Bundesamt für Sicherheit in der Informationstechnik] (BSI)

In our law firm premium relevance is given to data protection, in particular to ensure the confidentiality of information. However, doing our everyday business without emails is inconceivable. This medium has a significant role in our day-to-day communication, besides the communication via phone and fax. It is general knowledge that particular risks are implied in unencrypted e-mail messages. It is thus possible that third parties regularly obtain unauthorized access to email contents.

Safe communication is of high priority to us. While we make regular use of our own, specifically protected data exchange tools for the secure exchange of major data quantities, this would involve a disproportionate effort if used in simple everyday communication. In this context, we would like to draw your attention to a service we are offering, namely a public key (S/MIME) for asymmetric encoding, which we already added to our homepage several years ago. To obtain the key, please click here:
